Meet Our Instructors

Belem

“Hi, there! I’m Belem, owner, instructor, and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. I started aerials in May of 2018 as a Mothers Day gift to myself! I needed a fun way to start adding more movement into my life and made a beeline towards aerials from the moment I saw it. The mixture of dance, artistry, creativity, and the challenge are some of my favorite things about aerials. The friends I’ve made along the way and the cheers and support in every class have impacted my self confidence and emotional health in ways I can’t even begin to describe. We love building people up here and sharing the love and impact aerials has with our community. You can find me teaching aerial hoop, pole, kids classes, and health coaching at the studio, as well as continuing my own journey as a student in other classes!”

Callum

“Hey there, my name is Callum! I am on duty for all of your Advanced classes here at Aerial Atmosphere. I am also a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community. Body Positivity, comfort & acceptance of all people that walk in our doors is a staple here at our studio. I have been training/teaching Aerial Hoop, Pole Fitness, Aerial Silks and more for the past 7 years to people of all ages! The moment I walked into my first aerial class, I knew that my life was about to change in the most positive way. It helped me learn to love myself, inside and out! I also gained a diverse community of people from all walks of life that are supportive, caring and inspiring. My mission is to help others go through the same journey here that I did. You deserve to love yourself and be supported. When you join Aerial Atmosphere, you join a family.”

Shelly

“I’ve been coming to Aerial Atmosphere since July 2020 and have loved it since day one. I currently teach heels flow and beginner spin pole classes and love it! One of my favorite things about our studio is our students and instructors. We all support each other in all levels and classes. I consider Aerial Atmosphere my studio family.”

Alex

“Heyyo! I'm Alex, Mom of 2 beautiful girls, and I teach beginner pole! (I also have a slight obsession with the lyra hoop.) I love being upside down, spinning around, all of the awkwardness that comes with learning new things, & being a total goofball in class! I really enjoy watching students grow in their self love & confidence, as well as skill! I started my aerial journey in May 2020 after feeling like I had lost a big piece of myself. I was addicted after just one class and can't imagine my life without my aerial family! I feel truly blessed to find such a loving & encouraging community. I know you'll love it too, so come giggle your way through some fun routines with me on Wednesday nights!”

Kyla

“Kyla is a classically trained dancer with more than 20 years of experience in contemporary, ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. She coached collegiate dance teams at the University of Georgia and Duke University. She took her first pole class in 2014 at a circus trapeze studio in Athens, GA and fell in love with the physicality and movement opportunities. After a 4 year break, she returned to pole at Aerial Atmosphere where she honed her craft. She loves to teach movement quality, breaking down body mechanics, getting you into tricks you swore you couldn’t do, and getting you upside down!”

Hannah

“Hello beautiful people, my name is Hannah! I teach beginner pole and beginner aerial hoop here at Aerial Atmosphere. I started here as a student in March 2023. Thinking I would take just a few classes here and there not expecting to fall in love with aerials…. but here we are head over heels- literally and figuratively! I have grown so much as an individual and in my relationship with myself and body since beginning aerials. I am beyond torn with what I would say my favorite apparatus is as I have a love and appreciation for them all! This is one of the most open and loving environments I have ever been in. I have made so many amazing connections here with the most wonderful people. This is my home away from home. Fun fact! I am currently a graduate student at TTUHSC to be a Speech Language Pathologist! I’m pretty quirky so expect not only to get stronger, sharpen skills, and feel your flow, BUT to also let some giggles out during my class! I can’t wait to share my love and passion for aerials with you all! We are going to have so much fun!”

Bizzy

Bizzy is a weightlifter gone aerialist. She uses her weightlifting and crossfit background to specifically target muscle groups used in aerial/pole classes to cater to our students in Strength & Conditioning class. You can find Bizzy teaching Level 1 Pole and Hoop classes, and Strength & Conditioning. Her quick sense of humor makes classes more fun!

Eryn

“My name is Eryn, I've been at Aerial Atmosphere for almost 4 years now! I teach beginner pole. I first went to pole with a girlfriend and was extremely hesitant but then I fell IN LOVE WITH IT! Aerial Atmosphere truly is my second home and my second family.  Every instructor here will make you feel confident and comfortable.  It is a safe space for all.  I can't wait for you to start your aerial journey! See you soon!”

Misty

“Hi, I'm Misty and I'm your multi-level silks instructor, and the Aerial Kids program instructor. This picture is from my very first class and where I fell in love with everything aerial! I have been a classical ballet teacher for many years and never knew I could dance in the air too. I am so excited to share with you the joy and excitement you can find at Aerial Atmosphere! This is truly a unique place and the encouragement and happiness you can find here is amazing!”

Jaymee

“Hello! My name is Jaymee and I am one of your aerial hoop instructors and hula hoop instructor. I began practicing aerial hoop in 2018, then I was given the privilege to teach almost three years ago. It gives me so much joy to see my students flourish into the aerialist they want to be. The love in this studio is truly one of a kind. My goal is to help you feel comfortable and confident in finding your own flow. I promise to always support you, mentally and physically. I’m so excited to be a part of your journey.”

Angie

“Hello! My name is Angie and I’m excited to welcome you to Aerial Atmosphere! I moved to Lubbock all by my myself a few years ago for medical school and have always been a strong advocate for physical, mental, and emotional health. I have been lifting weights for the past 4ish years but last year I decided I needed something more. I had been feeling down about myself and needed to find the confidence I had lost. I googled “fun things to do in Lubbock” one day and came across the studio. I signed up and let me tell you I was BEYOND nervous to try my first class. I didn’t have very many friends in town so I knew if I wanted to do this I would have to take this step by myself. One year later and I’m SOOO happy I did. Walking into my first class I was treated by everyone like had been there forever. I took absolutely every class from hoop to pole to silks and not only found the confidence I was looking for but a wonderful community. My biggest peace of advice is don’t wait for anyone! DO IT FOR YOURSELF!! I hope to see you in classes!”

Abbie

“Hi! My name is Abbie and I teach Yoga and Beginner Hammock at Aerial Atmosphere. In addition to my 200-hr Yoga Teacher certification, I also hold an MFA in Theatre Performance & Pedagogy from Texas Tech, with a specialization in movement for the performer. I have been with the studio for 3 years, primarily practicing Aerial Silk Hammock. Aerials is a perfect blend of artistic expression, body empowerment, and tangible growth of strength and flexibility. All of the instructors here foster a safe and brave space so every student, regardless of experience or level, is set up to succeed and will leave feeling full of love and confidence. I can’t wait to be a part of your movement journey!”

Vy

“My name is Vy, I am currently a counseling student at Texas Tech and have been looking forward to incorporating Dance Movement Therapy techniques as a way of helping you connect with your body in my classes. I have been belly dancing and teaching Zumba for nearly 10 years, and hope to share the support, encouragement, and creativity with the community as it has enriched my own life. What is amazing about Aerial Atmosphere is the level of support in a judgement-free environment that allows everyone to explore their own styles.”

Vanessa

My classes encourage creative expression and playful awareness through movement. I am so excited to be on this journey with everyone in this incredibly nurturing environment.”
